Every major technological revolution begins when someone asks a question that everyone else has stopped asking.

For us, that person was our co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, John Krzeminski.

After more than two decades developing advanced propulsion systems for companies such as Ford, Chrysler, and FEV, John became convinced that the world was trying to solve modern energy challenges with an engine architecture that had changed very little in more than a century. He believed there had to be a better way.

So he started over.

What followed were years of research, experimentation, failures, discoveries, and countless hours of work driven by a simple idea: the reciprocating engine could be cleaner, more efficient, more powerful, and far more versatile than anyone imagined.

That work attracted the attention of the United States National Science Foundation, which awarded more than $1.2 million to support continued development. Eventually, those efforts led to the creation of the REVforce™ engine architecture, a completely new approach to converting fuel into power. It was designed not only to improve efficiency and power density, but also to operate on a wide range of fuels, including hydrogen and other renewable alternatives.

In 2021, John joined forces with entrepreneur and energy technology executive David Dusseau.

Although their paths had been very different, they shared the same belief: transformative technologies have the power to improve people’s lives and change the world for the better.

Together, they founded Alpha-Otto Technologies.

Over the years, ideas became prototypes. Prototypes became data. Data became patents. Along the way, we realized that our opportunity extended far beyond creating a better engine.

The world needs cleaner, more resilient, more affordable, and more abundant energy. Demand for electricity is growing at an unprecedented rate, yet many of the technologies we depend upon today remain expensive, inflexible, difficult to deploy, or dependent upon a single source of fuel.

That realization led us to develop the REVflux™ PowerCell and our vision for hyperscalable power generation.
